Freight corridors contribute Rs 16,000 crore to India’s GDP
A study by the University of New South Wales has found that India's Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) will contribute ₹16,000 crore to the country's GDP. The operationalization of the Western DFC (WDFC) has led to reduced freight costs and travel times, lowering commodity prices by up to 0.5%. The DFCs accounted for 2.94% of Indian Railways' revenue growth from FY 2018-19 to FY 2022-23, handling over 10% of the rail freight.

Railways looks for options to dodge proposed GST on DFC payouts
The Indian Railways is looking for ways to avoid paying goods and services tax (GST) on remittances it makes to its Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFC) network. The tax authorities have indicated an 18% GST on these remittances. Under normal circumstances, transferring money within the government does not attract GST.

Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd raises $100 million from Japan's MUFG
The loan gas been backed by a credit enchancement guarantee by the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a member of the World Bank Group. Officials said though the contract was terminated in 2020, trouble had been brewing since 2019. They said the termination letter was issued after a 14-day notice to the company.
