Security breach at Salman Khan's Mumbai flat: Person detained after trying to enter building illegally

    Synopsis

A person was detained by Mumbai Police after attempting to enter Salman Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. The person first arrived in the morning claiming to be a fan, and later returned in the evening, using a resident’s vehicle to access the premises. Security intercepted them before they could reach the actor. The incident comes amid heightened security for Khan, who has faced multiple threats, including a recent bomb threat and last year’s shooting incident linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. An investigation is ongoing.

Mumbai Police detained a person from Chhattisgarh after they tried to unlawfully enter the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. The incident occurred on May 20, when the individual first appeared at the apartment complex around 9:45 AM. Claiming to be a fan, the person insisted on meeting the actor. When security personnel denied entry, the individual reacted by smashing his phone on the ground.

As per the Times of India, despite being turned away, Singh returned later the same day at approximately 7:15 PM. This time, the person used a vehicle belonging to a resident of the building in an attempt to gain access. Upon blocking a resident's car and running towards the premises, they were stopped by the police stationed at the gate and handed over to the Bandra police.

During questioning, the individual reportedly told police that they were trying to hide because security personnel were not allowing him to meet Khan. The person has since been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police officials clarified that while the person did manage to get into the premises, they were intercepted before they could reach the actor’s actual residence.

High Security at Salman Khan’s Residence

Salman Khan's home has been under heightened security following a serious security threat last year. In April 2024, two individuals on a motorcycle fired four rounds outside Galaxy Apartments before fleeing the scene. In the aftermath, Khan was granted Y+ category security, reflecting the seriousness of the threat.

The incident was later claimed by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang through a social media post. The same group also took responsibility for the murder of Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was known to be close to Khan. The enmity between the actor and the Bishnoi gang stems from the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case, as the Bishnoi community regards the animal as sacred.

    Multiple Threats in Recent Years

This recent breach is not the only threat the actor has faced. Over the past few years, Salman Khan has received multiple death threats. Earlier this year, Mumbai's Transport Department received a WhatsApp message threatening to kill the actor by bombing his car and entering his home.

A case was filed at the Worli Police Station regarding this threat, although the identity of the person behind the message remains unknown. The investigation into both incidents continues, as authorities assess the actor's security requirements in light of recurring threats.

Apart form Salman, in January this year, actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Mumbai residence. Police had said that the man had entered the house with the intention of robbery. The actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital with multiple stab injuries and has since recovered.
