
Nearly a year since its theatrical release, Lal Salaam is finally set to make its digital debut. The film, which was released in 2023 and failed to leave a mark in cinemas, is now arriving on OTT for Bakrid on June 6 on the Sun Nxt platform. The OTT platform took to social media and said, “Just two days left for Moideen Bhai’s arrival! Lal Salaam - The Extended Version streaming from June 6 on Sun NXT.”
Story and star cast
The film stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in lead roles, with Rajinikanth in a crucial extended cameo. It also features Dhanya Balakrishna, Jeevitha Rajashekar, Thambi Ramaiah, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, and Thangadurai in important roles. AR Rahman’s soundtrack, paired with the film’s emotional undercurrent, adds depth to the narrative. Produced by Lyca Productions, Lal Salaam might finally get the audience it missed out on when it first released.Lal Salaam is a 2024 Tamil-language sports action drama directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Superstar Rajinikanth makes an extended cameo appearance.
Lal Salaam follows Thiru and Shamsuddin, two talented cricketers from Murarbad, a village where Hindus and Muslims coexist peacefully. Despite their childhood rivalry, their families remain close. However, political forces seek to exploit their differences for electoral gain. A cricket match turns violent, injuring Shamsuddin and triggering communal unrest. Thiru, ostracised by his village, redeems himself by winning matches to fund a local temple festival. In Mumbai, he unknowingly saves Shamsuddin during a riot, mending their bond. When the true instigator, Raj, is exposed, harmony is restored as both communities unite to celebrate the Thiruvizha together.
