From ‘hot lips’ to heartfelt hero: Loretta Swit, M*A*S*H icon and animal crusader, dies at 87

Loretta Swit, famed for her role as Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan in MASH, is no more. She breathed her last at 87 in New York. Swit was born to Polish immigrants and trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Her portrayal in MASH earned her two Emmy Awards.
