Several women have leveled allegations against actor and musician Jared Leto of sexual misconduct and impropriety. The women have called the behaviour of the Oscar winning actor “predatory, terrifying and unacceptable”.
The accusations came to light after nine women stepped up to accuse Leto,53, of engaging in flirting and inappropriate behaviour with women over the years including teenagers, according to an Air Mail report.
Speaking to the outlet, one woman claimed that almost two decades back in 2006, when she was 16 years old, the actor approached her outside a cafe in Los Angeles.
The woman further stated that the actor, who was seated with the actor Ashley Olsen, who was then 19, grabbed her arm. “I looked down and it was Jared Leto,” the woman told Air Mail.
She said that Leto told her that he was hosting a party at his house that evening and that he invited her. The woman declined, telling the outlet: “I didn’t even have a driver’s license.” The woman claimed that the conversation turned “sexual”
Laura La Rue, a model who also leveled accusations against Leto, spoke about a similar experience to the outlet. She claimed that when she was 16 years old in 2008.
The model said that she was at an event in a private residence in Beverly Hills where Leto was “watching her so intensely”.
Leto’s team Reacts
Reacting to the allegations against the actor, who won the Oscar in 2014 for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, his representative told Air Mail that the communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate … and Ms La Rue later applied to work as Mr Leto’s personal assistant.
The outlet reported that La Rue denied ever applying for a personal assistant role with Leto.
La Rue recalls another incident
Speaking about another separate visit, La Rue said that the actor walked out of a room completely naked when she was 17 years old.
Another woman claimed that she and Leto began a texting relationship while she was still underage and he used to ask her inappropriate questions during her visits to his house.
Leto’s representative has “expressly denied” the accusations levelled by several women reported in Air Mail. However, the actor himself has yet to comment on the allegations.
